IS CHIBOK A SCAM?

IS CHIBOK A SCAM?

Different Conspiracy Theories..

Yesterday The Ex- MEND Boss Muhajid Asari Dokubo published a short sentence that destabilized the media and a lot of people called for his head.. He wrote " PASS THE MESSAGE...No Girls are Missing.. CHIBOK Is a SCAM".  His message reminded me of a story I read on premium times some months ago where A former governor of Borno State, Ali Modu Sheriff, who also came under similar attack when he said the bomb blast in Maiduguri, the State Capital of Borno State, by a suicide bomber in a pick-up van was not carried out by the outlawed Boko Haram Sect. He categorically said the Sect was not responsible for the blast. Mr. Sheriff blamed Borno State government officials and members of his All Progressives Congress ( APC) for the blast that killed at least 31 people( human beings not cattles) and left a dozens more injured. As if that was not enough Dr Kemi Omololu-Olunloyo  an international investigative Journalist for HNN AFRICA after visiting CHIBOK released a 3 minutes Video Saying CHIBOK Is a Scam.

Today my Brother has Come up with his own conspiracy Theory that We (Nigerians) are still being played by "Oyibo people" and a political party.
he wrote;

"Please I want us to ponder on this...... It just crossed my mind and I have been left believing strongly that the disintegration of Nigerian seems so imminentLike we all know, Nigeria has been predicted to undergo disintegration in 2015 by the western world.

The play was all but written and the influence of the "oyinbo's" have made sure that we acted according to the written script.

President Goodluck lately made what I would term the worst decision of this tenure by accepting foreign military aid which indirectly sends us back to colonization. The US marines coming into Nigeria is based on what agreement? When would they leave? The other countries they have claimed to help, how long have they been helping them?

Since the national confab started and a microscopic number of northern elders decided against resource control, even going as far as making statements towards disintegration I had the feeling that the script written by the "oyinbos" has started on as an african stage play. Little did I know that it would soon rapidly turn out to be an American film.

President Goodluck lost the media and with it he lost one of the pillars of our country. The oyinbo's with the help of the purported opposition party have actually played it to the best of their ability.

On the issue of the chibok girls, it is now more emotional that factual. We don't really want to know any facts, all we want is ‪#‎bringbackourgirls‬ because our emotions are driving us.The same people that used the media to say that the mother of the nation (1st lady) is doing nothing concerning the girls that are missing are the same people taunting her and asking what right she has to summon (whereas she actually "invited") public officials.

Now I just want us to ponder on a little question "What if these girls are truly not missing" do you think the oyinbo military would leave Nigeria without finding the "not-missing" girls??? Mind you, the US marines or CIA are nothing compared to the British SAS special forces and if the information reaching us is correct, the British military personnel at the British high commission in Nigeria is actually working together with our Nigerian military personnel.

It took me quite a while to put a few pieces together but when I discovered APC hired someone who worked on Obama's campaign to be their chief media strategist and considering the fact that majority of the Niger delta freedom fighters had their affiliations to both Germany and Russia, "I think" our beloved country is being played on a chess board.

It might seem like nothing to us and I might be wrong as this is just mere perception, but if the puzzle completes and we let our fate be decided on a chess board just like during the colonial era, we might just be on the verge of total collapse as a sovereign nation.

At the end, this is just a feeling of one individual, but like in the old testament, I believe I have seen the handwriting on the wall but my sincere prayer is that I am wrong.

BE VIGILANT, BE SECURITY CONSCIOUS AND REPORT SUSPICIOUS CHARACTERS TO LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES…. GOV DICKSON TO NON INDIGENES

Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State has urged the non-indigene community in the state to be vigilant and be security conscious at all times in the face of current security challenges facing the country.

Governor Dickson gave the advice, while addressing the non indigenes at a reception held in his honour during his ‘thank you’ visit to the Supreme Council for Non Indigenes at the Peace Park in Yenagoa.

He said, they should see the security of lives and property as a collective responsibility of all and not allow suspicious characters to infiltrate their ranks and also report such persons to the law enforcement agencies for prompt action.

The Bayelsa State Governor urged them to remain peaceful and law-abiding, noting that, the State was now one of the most peaceful states in the country as a result of the support of the people.

He thanked the non-indigene community for supporting him during and after the governorship election.

“Before I came, a lot of businesses had closed down. You know those who closed down their shops and left Yenagoa, because businesses had collapsed. But, I also know that since we have been working together for the past 2 years, even most of those who rented out their shops have started coming back again and business once again has started booming. And, so I want to thank you for all the support you gave to me and the collaboration you are giving to the law enforcement agents.

“The prosperity you have started to experience, more will come your way. Those of you who are thinking of opening new shops, you better get them now, because what is coming is more than what you know.”

Responding to some of their requests, the Governor assured them of the provision of a bus as well as the construction of a building materials market, which he said was already on-going.

Earlier, in a welcome address read on their behalf by the President General of the Supreme Council for Non Indigenes in the State, Chief Sunny Chukwueze, the group described Governor Dickson as a detribalized leader, who runs an open door administrative system of government.

Describing the Governor’s educational policies as urbane, the President General also lauded the state government for paying WAEC and NECO fees for the children of non-indigenes in the state.

Chief Chukwuezi noted that non-indigenes in the state were happy with the Governor for fulfilling most of his electioneering promises, while canvassing for their support.

He expressed appreciation to Governor Dickson for the on-going infrastructural projects across the state and the appointment of non-indigenes into positions of public trust.

In a goodwill message, Oba of the Yoruba community in the state, Alhaji Sulaimon Oguntunji, thanked Governor Dickson for giving the non-indigenes a sense of belonging and pledged their continued support for the administration.

The high point of the ceremony was the investiture of the Governor as the Grand Patron of the Supreme Council for the non-indigenes in the State.

He expressed confidence in the capacity of Bayelsans to participate in the emerging economy of the State, which he noted, has been reinforced by the number of Bayelsa entrepreneurs and the quality of wares, that were put on display at the exhibition.

“Today my faith and confidence in the capacity of our people to participate in our economy has been reinforced. What we have seen is a tip of the iceberg.” He declared.

The state governor asserted that various businesses of international repute definitely will spring forth, because of the Bayelsa spirit.

“Businesses of International repute will spring forth because of the Bayelsa ingenuity. Already, the world is getting to know and notice them. Their products are already found in exclusive shops in the world and some have started receiving international acclaim,” the Governor remarked.

“If THEY DON'T RELEASE OUR GIRLS, THEN THEY SHOULD BE READY TO KIDNAP ME" - Dame Patience Jonathan

“The Borno state government also refused to relocate the students from Chibok to safer places like Maiduguri."  - WAEC

The kidnap of over 250 schoolgirls in Chibok may not have occurred if the Borno State Government had heeded the advice of an examination body, fresh facts have emerged.

Aware of the poor security situation in Borno and worried about the safety of students, the West African Examination Council, WAEC, declined to conduct its Senior School Certificate Examination in unsafe parts of Borno, including Chibok. But that was until the state governor, Kashim Shettima, assured of adequate security measures, an official has said.

The head of WAEC’s National Office in Nigeria, Charles Eguridu, stated this on Friday night in Abuja while answering questions from several women including First Lady Patience Jonathan, wives of state governors, female legislators at federal and state levels, and leaders of various women organizations. The Borno State Commissioner of Women Affairs, Inna Galadima, stood in for the wife of the Borno Governor, Nana Shettima.

The event was organised by Mrs. Jonathan at the First Lady’s conference room, Presidential Villa, Abuja.Mr. Eguridu said WAEC was initially reluctant to conduct its examination in Chibok and other troubled areas of the north-east because of the security challenges but had to buckle when Mr. Shettima assured the Council, in writing, that adequate security would be provided.

“Following the previous experience, we were afraid to go to the North-East this year, yet we risked it and asked for extra security through the Minister of Education, Nyesom Wike,” the official said.

“We also asked the various state governments to relocate all the centres to the state capitals where there would be adequate security.”“The three governors did not respond to our request but instead said they had made adequate security arrangements.
The Borno state government also refused to relocate the students from Chibok to safer places like Maiduguri,” Mr. Eguridu told the women on Friday.

The WAEC official reportedly tendered the letters written to the governors of Adamawa, Borno, and Yobe to prove his claim. He also told the women that another factor that influenced WAEC’s decision to ask that all centres be moved to the state capitals was the death of three of its staff while conducting a similar examination in a school along the Yola-Maiduguri road, last year.

Schools in Borno had been shut following the various attacks by the extremist Boko Haram sect.PREMIUM TIMES had reported how the state government, in a bid to ensure its students do not miss the SSCE examinations, asked final year secondary school students to resume studies.

The Borno governor, who initially declined transferring the final year students from centres in remote areas like Chibok to the state capital, finally agreed to do so after the kidnap, Mr. Eguridu said.“Borno state government only agreed to relocate the remaining 189 pupils after the abduction of the girls,” he said.

The Borno Government is yet to react to WAEC’s claim. The Borno Education Commissioner, Musa Inuwa Kubo, did not answer or return calls made to his phone and was yet to reply to a text message enquiry as at the time of publishing this report.

The actual student figure The WAEC boss also provided what appears the clearest clarification yet of the number of students in the Chibok school before the April 14 kidnap.

“Overall, 530 students registered for WAEC at the Chibok centre, 135 males and 395 girls,” the official said.Mr. Eguridu provided the bio data, including photographs of all the 530 students that registered at the Chibok centre.

The centre was the Government Secondary School, Chibok, and was used as centre by both the students of the school and those of smaller villages in Chibok Local Government. The actual number of girls still with the kidnappers is yet to be ascertained, although the school, the state government and the police all gave figures above 200.

About 50 of the girls initially declared missing have been reunited with their families with many of those escaping from their abductors.Although the school is a mixed school, boarding facilities are only available for girls; which explains why they were the only ones in the dormitory when the suspected Boko Haram members arrived on the night of April 14.

To be able to ascertain the actual number of girls in the dormitory when the kidnap occurred and the number of girls still missing, the women, at the end of their meeting, resolved to invite all those involved in the administration of the school to Abuja to explain what actually happened.

Women vow more action.

While speaking after the meeting, Mrs. Jonathan vowed to do everything possible to ensure the release of the girls.“If they don’t release our girls, then they should be ready to kidnap me,” she said.

“If after three days the children are not released, we shall march to Borno. We shall march to Borno Governor, then to Senate President, David Mark, and the President of this country to tell them the truth,” Mrs. Jonathan said.

In a communique at the end of their deliberations, the women said they would do all within their powers to ensure that the girls are rescued from their abductors.

In the communiqué, the women stated:“For us to provide the necessary solution, there are pertinent questions that we must ask and these include the followings:“

We are asking these questions so as not to rely on the rumours flying around. So we want to do a thorough job as women and concerned mothers.“When we are through with these efforts, we may need to approach our elders in the north, the National Assembly and all those concerned to help us put an end to the killing of our husbands, our children and our people.

“We heard that all federal schools were closed in the state, but the Chibok school, which is a state school. Why will a state school be opened without providing adequate security while all other schools were closed?“

We also heard that WAEC was conducting exams when the students were abducted, so this meeting resolved that there will be a committee to be Chaired by the Borno State Governor’s wife.”

The women said members of the committee will include the wife of the senator representing the senatorial zone where Chibok is located, the wife of the member representing Chibok federal constituency, wife of the Chibok local government chairman, wife of the minister representing Borno State, and wife of the Chibok Village head.

The committee is expected to come along with the Chibok school principal, the security guard at the school, at least two teachers from the school, two teachers invigilating the WAEC examinations in the school, two matrons, as well as chairman and secretary of the school’s Parents Teachers Association.

The committee is also expected to come along with two parents whose children are still missing, two parents whose children escaped from the Boko Haram insurgents and two students that managed to escape, whose identity would be protected by the women.

The school principal was also asked to appear with the school’s register and the passport pictures of each of the missing girls.“We also want to see the Chairman of Chibok Local Government, the Borno State Commissioner for Education, the WAEC Registrar, the Borno State Police Commissioner, and the Divisional Police Officer DPO of Chibok0”, the women said.

The women, at the Friday night meeting, also resolved to take more actions if the girls are not found.“If the girls are not found by Sunday night, then we shall go to the Governor of Borno State first, the Senate President and later the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, led by the Mother of the Nation, Dame Patience Jonathan,” they said.

The women’s meeting continues on Sunday by 4:00 p.m.

According to him, “the move is to guarantee the security of the funds for stakeholders and develop a robust SMEs programme for the empowerment of the people.

Governor Dickson, who hailed the World Association for Small and Medium Enterprises, WASME for granting Bayelsa the hosting right, said the conference was taking place at a period, when efforts were being intensified to diversify the economy beyond the oil and gas era.

Enumerating efforts made by his administration for wealth creation and poverty reduction in the state, Governor Dickson said with the Bayelsa Geographical Information System BGIS in place, the citizenry could easily access finance with their assets.

In her remarks, Director General of Securities and Exchange Commission, Dr. Arunma Oteh, described the state’s SME fund, SME Council and Micro Finance Agency as laudable steps, that would boost entrepreneurship.

She, however, suggested that government should consider the setting up of business incubators to provide, not just financial support to SMEs, but also nurture them to grow into bigger productive engines of growth.

The Senior Special Assistant to Governor Dickson on SMEs, Mr. Ebiekure Eradiri, remarked that, the government has created an SMEs database to effectively manage the sub sector, noting that, Bayelsa was the 7 th state to respond as well as comply with the Federal Government’s directive on the establishment of the SMEs state council on NEDEP.

“Where opportunities do not exist, the foundation creates them. Africa is rising, has helped to groom young minds, so that their dreams will soar beyond reality and Africa can prosper.”

Acting Managing Director of the Bank of Industry, Mr. Waheed Olagunju, said the conference would provide the opportunity to achieve the objectives of NEDEP to enable Bayelsans become more productive, noting that for over 50 years, the bank has been supporting SMEs in Africa and other parts of the world.

MAY DAY 2014: GOV DCKSON ADVOCATES A NON-PARTISAN CIVIL SERVICE

MAY DAY 2014: GOV DCKSON ADVOCATES A NON-PARTISAN CIVIL SERVICE

As the country gears up for the 2015 general elections, workers in Bayelsa State have been urged not to allow the political class to use them to push interests, that are inimical to the state.

Governor Seriake Dickson, who gave the advice during the May Day celebration at the Peace Park in Yenagoa, reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the welfare of the workers.

He also reiterated his preparedness to engage the organized labour in discussing matters affecting their conditions of service and the wellbeing of Bayelsa at all times.

The Governor stressed the need for civil servants to tread carefully, noting that greedy politicians, who do not have the interest of the state at heart, would stop at nothing to infiltrate labour with a view to actualizing their sinister agenda.

While commending the state workforce for contributing to the achievements of the present administration, he emphasized that, all ongoing reforms of the government were intended to enhance efficient administration and productivity of the civil service.

According to the Governor, “In view of the times that we are in, the organized labour should work hard to ensure that you don’t allow people, who want to contest for various offices to infiltrate your ranks, and even when you have legitimate complaints, let us not see political colour in them.

“ Even when we disagree, we remain open to work with you and engage you all, because in the first place, we are all citizens of Bayelsa State. So, we all have this state to develop by working together. There is no “us and them” situation, and as I keep saying, we your political leaders are only tenants in this building called the public service, while the real landlords are yourselves. So, value the change that has come to you.”

Also speaking, the Deputy Governor, Rear Admiral Gboribiogha John Jonah rtd, urged workers to be patient, assuring that government would do everything within its reach to ensure that all civil servants in the state were paid the arrears of the 18 per cent minimum wage.

Responding to some of the issues raised by labour, the Deputy Governor noted, that in line with its policy of promoting efficiency of workers, the present administration has not only reopened the state public service training institute, but also appointed a Director General to oversee it.

According to him, the government has already acquired land to build the permanent site of the institute, adding that work on the project would commence soon.

In a joint address, the state councils of the Nigeria Labour Congress and Trade Union Congress expressed appreciation to Governor Dickson for commencing payment of the N18,000 minimum wage arrears and pension gratuities to retirees.

Delivering the address, which captured the theme of this year’s May Day celebration as, “ Building Enduring Peace and Unity: Panacea for Sustainable National Development”, the state NLC Chairman, Mrs Ebiuwou Koku-Obiyai also lauded government over the construction of modern school infrastructure in all parts of the state.

The two umbrella workers’ unions, however, appealed to the state government to implement the 22 per cent consolidated salary for media workers allowances with arrears from July, 2012 to March, 2013 and the release of the operational vehicle already approved for the state-owned Niger Delta Television.

While requesting government to issue a standing order to pay N250 million as monthly contribution into the Pension Fund Account, the Congresses, also called for a further reduction of the Personal Income Tax Act (PITA) by 50 per cent to ameliorate the financial stress on civil servants in the state.
