PDP Chieftain Faults APC Over Rating Of Jonathan

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bayelsa State, Nyenye Mathias has described as laughable the poor rating of the performance of the administrations of President Goodluck Jonathan and Bayelsa State Governor Seriake Dickson, saying the rating by the All Progressives Congress (APC) is erroneous and lacking in proper judgement.
Mathias, who recently defected to the PDP from the Accord Party with over 5,000 of his supporters from the Nembe area of the state, said though the parameters used by the APC was not known, the achievements recorded by President Goodluck Jonathan and Governor Seriake Dickson are unprecedented and were above that of past administrations.
He said the performance of Governor Seriake Dickson in the last two years had surpassed that of the last administration in which many of the members of the APC served with Chief Timipre Sylva.
According to him, record available showed high level of performance on security of lives and property in Bayelsa State and improved infrastructural development in the three senatorial districts. He said, “The present administration has succeeded in the area of infrastructures, education, sports, power, agriculture and tourism.
“Unlike past policies by the previous administration, Hon. Seriake Dickson administration should be rated high for initiating an improved Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) from few millions into almost N4billion, the various anti-corruption campaigns and fiscal responsibility policies, transparency and monetary savings and educational policies.
“Within the last 12 months, Seriake Dickson has done over 41 road and infrastructural projects in the various local government areas including the new and heavy investment in security, tourism and education. The APC should look at the health sector which their sponsors could not revamp.
The Integrated Diagnostic centre and several referral hospitals are among projects embarked upon to transform the health sector.
