Speaking at an interactive session in Government House, Yenogoa, the elders commended Governor Dickson for creating success for both the federal and state governments.
The elders largely drawn from the ruling People's Democratic Party met with Governor Seriake Dickson in government house and expressed their gratitude to him for changing the face of Bayelsa. They held a closed-door meeting and came up with a communiqué in support of President Goodluck Jonathan in the fight against insurgency in the Northeast.
Thompson Okorotie, Elder Stateman, said, "The forum noted the commitment of the President to stop all forms of insurgency in the northeast zone and other security challenges across the country. They therefore call on all northern leaders and Nigerians to join hands with the President to bring this insurgency to an end."
Werinipre Seibarugu, former Deputy Governor, Bayelsa State, said, "The governor has made so many efforts and has succeeded in bringing every group together to work as a team to deliver PDP in Bayelsa state and Nigeria."
The Bayelsa elders further commended Governor Dickson for bringing everyone together and projecting a united front for success at the federal and state levels.

George Fente, Former Political Adviser, Bayelsa, said, "His Excellency, the governor has tried politically, infrastructurally and trying to bring every elder together so that we must talk with one voice."
The forum also commended Ekiti governor elect, Ayodele Fayose for recording a resounding victory at the polls.
