Bayelsa State government suspends the board and technical crew of Bayelsa Utd and Bayelsa Queens

Bayelsa State government, owners of Bayelsa United FC have suspended the board and technical crew of Bayelsa Utd and that of the female team Bayelsa Queens with immediate effect.

In a press release made by the Honourable Commissioner for Sports Ebikitim Diongoli said the decision to suspend the coaches of the state's male and female team is connected to the recent spate of poor results been recorded by both teams.
The board of Bayelsa United lead by Mr. Odogu Akpofini have been grappling with financial difficulties and two days ago the players and officials had a meeting with the state deputy Governor Rear Admiral John Jonah over their unpaid wages from last season to this season.
Also it was discovered that the team have not complied with the LMC laid down rule of a minimum wage of 150,000 Naira.
On the pitch they have not fared better as well recording no win in their last three games including a 4-3 loss at home to Bayelsa United.
Coached by the now suspended Richard Bubagha who took over from Ladan Bosso who left the team at the start of the season for Abia Warriors, last season they finished 3rd hence qualified for the CAF confederations cup.
They crash out of the continental club showpiece at the second preliminary stage and they are presently 17th on the 20-team NPFL log on 20 points from a possible 54 after losing 3-0 to Warri Wolves on Thursday.
However they have two outstanding games against newcomers, Giwa FC and champions, Kano Pillars.

Their next game will be on Sunday against Crown Fc of Ogbomosho.
