DEFINE IRONY?: POLICEMAN AND PRISON STAFF ARRESTED FOR CAR THEFT IN BAYELSA STATE

Dismissed Police Corporal, Prison Staff Arrested Over Car Theft

A dismissed police corporal from the Delta State Police Command and a staff of the Nigerian Prison Service in Rivers State, were yesterday arrested by the men of the Bayelsa State Police Command for alleged car theft along the Owerri axis in Imo State.

While the dismissed police officer was arrested in Patani ,Delta State, for the alleged theft of a Mazda 323 car with registration number AR 244 UGH, the Nigerian Prisons Service staff was arrested at the weekend for an alleged theft of a red Colored Gulf Car with registration number KMR 128 XA.

In a statement released yesterday by the Bayelsa State Police Command and signed by the spokesman ,Mr.Alex Akhigbe,the dismissed corporal was identified as CPL James Bekem.

According to the statement, “the Mazda 323 was stolen in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, and traced to Patani in Delta State. One Corporal James Bekem, a dismissed corporal that served in Delta State was arrested in connection with the stolen car, He has confessed to the crime and will soon be charged to court.”
